Is Cancer A Nutritional Deficiency Disease?

 

Ever increasing numbers of research studies continue to stack up that show Vitamin C protects against cancer; Vitamin D protects against cancer; green tea protects against cancer; garlic protects against cancer; this nutrient protects against cancer; that nutrient protects against cancer.

Yet vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, flavonoids and other micronutrients always work best as a team. Put them all together in adequate quantities and the right balance and surely then, few would get cancer!

A ten year study by Harvard Medical School recorded the percentages of cancer patients in remission 5 years after being diagnosed. All cancers were covered by the study.

500% More Survivors!
One group of patients refused conventional treatment - chemo/radiotherapy and surgery. Instead they went on a strict nutritional regimen involving lots of supplements. Compared to the group who underwent the conventional torture treatment, 523% more of the patients on the nutritional regimen were in remission 5 years later!

That was after they’d contracted Cancer! Prevention is more certain. Odds are that if those same patients had been on the nutritional regimen before, they wouldn’t have developed cancer.

All of which suggests that Cancer is in many cases a nutritional deficiency disease. Not of the same ilk as Scurvy and Rickets. These are brought on by total deficiency of vitamins. It was to prevent the likes of Scurvy and Rickets that the Recommended Daily Amounts (RDA) of vitamins and minerals were concocted.

RDAs Way Too Low
RDAs are adequate to prevent those diseases. But modern scientific research proves over and over again, that we need much larger amounts than the RDAs to protect against the likes of cancer and heart disease. Studies indicate that at least 500mg of Vitamin C a day can cut death rates by 50%.

Yet the RDA is 60mg daily, whilst the average UK intake of this vitamin is 58mg. Way too low! Most animals make Vitamin C in their bodies - in proportion to their size, bodyweight and needs. 60 mg is the minimum amount made by an animal weighing under 5lbs. Humans weigh rather more!

A goat is smaller than most humans. Yet the average goat makes around 15,000 mg Vitamin C daily. That's when it is not under stress. When a goat is under stress it makes a whole lot more. Just like us, when under stress animals lose massive amounts of Vitamin C fom their bodies. The RDA of 60mg is about the amount that a mouse makes. Humans are slightly larger than mice!

Little wonder cancer incidence continues to increase!

The RDAs desperately need updating. Nutritional scientists have renamed them as 'Ridiculous Dietary Allowances'. These are scientists who have proven by research our need for much larger daily amounts. But the medical profession regards its opinions as more valid than scientific research. So it rejects research as flawed when it proves those opinions wrong.

Dr Mathias Rath author of the book, “Why Animals Don’t Get Heart Attacks… But People Do,” says those who set the RDAs should be clapped in jail and the keys thrown away. They are responsible for millions of unnecessary deaths! Because many food and supplement manufacturers use them as guidelines… even though they know they’re totally inadequate to give protection against today's killer diseases.

Intravenous injections of 60 grams and more of Vitamin C daily is currently proving an effective cancer treatment. Unlike chemotherapy, it kills only cancer cells, without harming healthy cells. But since it isn't drug based, most doctors will likely ignore this treatment since it conflicts with their opinions.

Advertisements for some one-a-day vitamin–mineral supplements claim they contain the full RDAs. Because of this people buy them; believing they’re protected by them when they aren’t! Even though the ads truthfully claim they contain the RDAs, it’s highly unlikely that users will absorb more than 10% of the tablets’ contents. Because when manufacturers compete on price, they cut corners. Often the mineral contents are the cheapest forms of those minerals. They just happen to be the most difficult for your digestive system to absorb.

“You are what you eat,” is the old saying. Wrong! You are what you absorb and utilise of what you eat!

Cheap Vitamins Pass Right Through
A company that hires out portable lavatories for fairs and markets, regularly find loads of cheap vitamin pills among the debris when they hose them down afterwards. Some still have the manufacturers name on the coating. They’ve gone right through people’s digestive systems and out the other end, without even breaking down. Utter waste of money!

100 years ago Cancer affected 1 in 8000. Today that’s increased to 2 in 5. So what’s changed in the past 100 years that could account for the enormous increase in the incidence of Cancer?

In a word: lifestyle! Which includes food.

Life today is faster paced. More stressful! Stress weakens your immune system. There are many more harmful chemicals in the air we breathe, the food we eat and the liquids we drink... including chlorine in drinking water! And according to recent research our food contains only a fraction of the nutrients that it did 50 years ago.

Soils Short Of Minerals In 1930s
The US government told the American people their soils were almost depleted of minerals back in the 1930s – due to over-farming. British and European soils have been farmed for many more years than US soils have. The odds are, in the 1930s our soils were in a worse condition than US soils were. But we were kept in the dark by governments skilled in playing cards close to the chest!

Today it’s been proven and well publicised that our soil is much poorer than 50 years ago. But 50 years ago, the soil was depleted compared to 100 years ago. So although today’s fruits and vegetables contain only a fraction of the nutrients they did 50 years ago, their nutrient content had already diminished then, compared to a century ago.

Granny Knows Best
So many food related sayings that were put down to ‘Old Wives’ Tales’ are proven true by scientific research. Sayings like, “Eat your greens, they’re good for you,” are true! Broccoli, Cauliflower, Cabbage and Brussels Sprouts contain natural phyto-chemicals that are positive protectors. “You need plenty of colours on your plate.” Red, yellow and green fruits and veggies all contain natural protective phyto-chemicals. Though not as many as they did 100 years ago.

An investigation by the Consumers’ Association covered in the June 2004 issue of ‘Which’ magazine reported that Asda sliced runner beans contained just 11% of the text book level of Vitamin C. Marks & Spencer’s fresh mango contained 42%. Vitamin C is the most important vitamin where protection against cancer and heart disease are concerned.

So the reason for the upsurge in cancer incidence is obvious. We aren’t getting the protection from our food that our ancestors did!

Only 1 In 6 Makes It Past 65
Researchers at the University of Alabama Medical College found that only 1 in 6 of us reach the age of 65 without falling prey to one of today’s killer diseases. The symptoms may not yet be evident at that time, but the disease is growing inside. The 1 in 6 who aren't deveoping one of these diseases is the one who takes bioavailable nutritional supplements regularly. Supplements that weren’t necessary 100 years ago. And certainly not the cheap tablets that aren’t absorbed.

Yes we’re living longer now than then. But are we living better? Or are we simply drugged up to the eyeballs... with drugs whose side-effects can cause cancer? Like 'statins' - cholesterol lowering drugs?

Most elderly folk eat less than they did when they were younger. So they get fewer nutrients. Less protection from their food.

It’s usually the case that elderly folk are the most susceptible to cancer. So there's a definite link between what we eat and cancer.

In countries where they eat more healthily than we do, the incidence of cancer is much lower. Asian women have a much lower incidence of breast cancer than British women - until they come to live in the UK and consume the average British diet. Then their breast cancer incidence increases. Except that those who continue to eat their traditional foods, don't become as susceptible as British women eating a typically British diet.

Everything about cancer appears to tie in with food and nutrition. In the UK we don’t get enough nutrients in our food. That much has been proven conclusively by recent research. And by earlier research too. But governments sat on the earlier information for the sake of their political futures.

Will You Welcome Cancer With Open Arms?
The answer has to be: if you want to avoid the Big C you need to be taking the right bioavailable nutritional supplements to keep your immune system in peak fighting condition. That way you have a chance. Doing nothing is like opening your arms and bidding cancer a hearty welcome!

Some sources claim the success rate for chemotherapy and radiotherapy is only 4%. Which means that 96% of those affected by cancer die from it! Even after the tortures of modern cancer treatment.

Cancer is THE disease that everyone fears. Even oncologists (cancer specialists) have been heard to declare they wouldn’t undergo chemotherapy or radiotherapy if they themselves contracted cancer.
